Our mission

Random A.O.K. exists to bring dignity, hope, and essential support directly to people experiencing homelessness, addiction, and mental-health challenges in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Our goal is to meet people where they are with compassion providing hygiene access, harm-reduction supplies, food, and community care so that every act of kindness moves someone closer to stability, safety, and a better future.

Our story

Random A.O.K began after the tragic killing of George Floyd, when Minneapolis was shaken and our community was left hurting. Once the fires stopped and the news cameras left, what remained were deep struggles with homelessness, trauma, and fentanyl addiction. We saw people in our own city suffering with nowhere to turn, and we felt a responsibility to step up. Random A.O.K was created to bring hope, support, and compassion back into the streets of the Twin cities by helping the people who were being forgotten.

How we make a difference

Random A.O.K makes a difference by showing up for people who are often overlooked. We provide food, clean water, hygiene items, harm-reduction supplies, and compassionate conversation right where people are living. We check on individuals regularly, build trust, and respond to real needs in real time. Whether it is helping someone stay safe, connecting them to resources, or simply reminding them that they matter, every interaction is focused on dignity, consistency, and genuine care.

Our guiding principles

Compassion. We lead with empathy and treat every person with dignity, no matter their situation.

Consistency. We show up again and again, building trust through steady support and real presence in the community.

Community. We believe healing happens together, so we partner with residents, volunteers, and local organizations to create safer, cleaner, and more supportive streets for everyone.

"Random A.O.K. has been a lifeline for so many in our community. Their dedication and compassion are truly inspiring."

A grateful Minneapolis Resident
